Alex Garcia of Sylmar, a former national amateur boxing champion, is being sought on a felony warrant charging him with breaking a man’s jaw and robbing him of a piece of jewelry, according to the San Fernando district attorney’s office.
Garcia, 29, is accused of attacking an acquaintance on the street in front of Garcia’s home on Dec. 1 and using his fists to batter the man.
Garcia is charged with robbery, battery and assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant, issued Dec. 4, asks bail of $250,000.
Blinky Rodriguez of San Fernando, Garcia’s boxing manager and trainer, said the piece of jewelry, a gold crucifix, earlier had been stolen from Garcia’s house.
