SIMI VALLEY : Train Makes Run for Depot Project
- Share via
A bit of the past returned to Simi Valley on Saturday as a miniature train chugged through the Santa Susana railroad depot.
The model railroad set up inside the depot re-creates the Southern Pacific Coast Line of 1940 running from Burbank through Simi Valley and on to Santa Barbara, said Dan Wexler, president of the Santa Susana Model Railroad Club.
It was displayed at an open house, sponsored by the club and the Rancho Simi Foundation, to promote restoration of the depot as a museum commemorating the role of the railroad in the development of Simi Valley, Wexler said.
