Writing Award Announced: The screenplay of the Columbia Pictures’ film “Awakenings,” starring Robert De Niro, Robin Williams, Max Von Sydow and John Heard and directed by Penny Marshall, has been selected to receive the Friends of the USC Libraries’ third annual Scriptor Award. The award, honoring screenwriter Steven Zaillian and author Oliver Sacks, who wrote the book on which the script was based, will be presented at a black-tie dinner on Jan. 26 at USC.
