STATE : Dead Robber a Sheriff’s Veteran

SACRAMENTO — The Sheriff’s Department learned today that a man who robbed a grocery store and committed suicide when stopped by deputies was a 19-year veteran of the department.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Craig Trimble, 44.
“Employees of the department are in a state of shock after learning of Craig’s death and the circumstances surrounding it,” said sheriff’s spokesman Ed Close. “He was well liked by everyone who knew and worked with him.”
