Husband Arrested in Slaying of Wife

A Hillcrest man was arrested after allegedly killing his wife by shooting her in the head, authorities said Sunday.
James Lee Coleman, 44, was taken into custody after police received a telephone call alerting them to a disturbance in an apartment in the 800 block of West Nutmeg Street, according to a statement prepared by San Diego police Lt. Dan Berglund.
When the officers arrived, they saw Coleman leaning over the lifeless body of his wife, 34-year-old Kathy Coleman, who was on her back on the bedroom floor, Berglund said. A rifle was found near the body. An investigation is continuing.
