SHORT TAKES : Psychiatric Test of Singer Asked

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country singer Lynn Anderson’s ex-husband has filed a motion asking her to undergo a psychiatric examination before a trial to determine who will have custody of their children.
Anderson’s ex-husband, Harold (Spook) Stream III, said in court documents that he wants to determine her fitness as a parent for their son, 11, and daughter, 9. A hearing is scheduled Friday.
Anderson gained custody when she and Stream, a wealthy oilman from Lake Charles, La., divorced in Louisiana in 1982. He obtained temporary custody in April, alleging that she and a boyfriend had abused the children.
Department of Human Services investigators said they cannot substantiate the allegations.
Anderson is perhaps best known for her 1970 hit record “Rose Garden.”
