NATION IN BRIEF : MONTANA : Judge OKs Lawsuits to Halt Bison Killing

A federal judge in Helena gave an animal-rights group permission to sue the state an federal governments to stop the killing of bison that wander outside Yellowstone National Park. He rejected arguments by the state of Montana and the National Park Service that the Fund for Animals suffered no actual harm from a policy under which the animals are killed to prevent spreading disease to cattle.
