LIGHTS OUT: The big deadline in Irvine’s Woodbridge Village today concerns something closer to home than the Persian Gulf: it’s time to take down outside holiday lights. . . . The homeowners’ association in the affluent village of 30,000 tightly controls houses’ exterior appearance. If the lights are left up, “we write them a letter and ask them to take them down,” a spokesman says. “There’s very rarely a problem with it,” though a miscreant technically could be fined.
