Blood Donor Response Returns Supply to Normal

The American Red Cross’ blood supply in Los Angeles and Orange counties is back up to desired levels after an overwhelming response to a plea for donors.
“We wish to thank the public for their support of the Red Cross appeal for donors,” said Dr. Steven Kleinman, medical director of Los Angeles-Orange Counties Regional Blood Services.
The Red Cross has set up a special donor pledge system in support of Operation Desert Storm, Kleinman said. Those who wish to make themselves available to donate blood should call the Red Cross to make their pledge, he said. The Red Cross will contact them when the need arises.
