Airlines to Hikes Fares on Eastern’s Routes: Several major airlines said they planned to hike fares as early as today on routes on which now-defunct Eastern had offered discounts. But most of the changes, including the elimination of $79 flights between New York and Florida cities, will not take effect until Feb. 1, representatives of the airlines said. The airlines include American, United, Delta, Pan Am, USAir and Continental.
