Some Gulf war terminology and jargon:
Triple A Attacks: Stands for “anti-aircraft artillery” or gunfire. Covers all artillery fired from the ground by troops that is aimed at airplanes.
Psyops: Short for “psychological operations.” Includes military activity designed to affect the morale of an army or the calculations of its military leaders. Could range from dropping of thousands of leaflets over enemy territory to seizing radio or television stations to take over broadcasts.
BDA: Stands for “bomb damage assessment.” Usually determined by satellite photos or surveillance aircraft.
In the theater: Means in the area of conflict.
