From atop the lush green knoll that makes up Chase Park, people can see across most of West Hills and Canoga Park. For that reason, it is a favorite picnic and playtime spot for families who live in the far northwest part of the San Fernando Valley.
Although this is an unsupervised park and there are no organized activities, the park has been a favorite of adults and children for the past 15 years. During that time, teen-agers have enjoyed sliding down the hilly back side of the park while younger children play on the swings.
In addition, it has become a popular place for exercise buffs who enjoy a challenging walk. Sidewalks that twist up and around the park are almost exclusively on hills that give even the most fit walkers an extra workout.
According to maintenance workers, the park is kept clean and landscaped beautifully year-round, making it a welcome place to take the family for an afternoon of fun.
