Turner Signs South America Affiliates: Turner Broadcasting System Inc. said it signed agreements with cable-TV operators to carry separate entertainment and news networks in Central and South America. The first network, TNT, will show movies from Turner’s library of MGM films and be broadcast in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The second network will consist of a specially edited feed of CNN and be broadcast mostly in English. Turner said it would be available to about 800,000 subscribers in the region, beginning today.
