Switzerland’s No. 1 team won the gold medal in the four-man event at the World Bobsledding Championships in Breuil-Cervinia, Italy.
After clocking the best time of the day, 1:1.36 in the first run, Switzerland I’s crew of Gustav Weder, Bruno Gerber, Lorenz Schindelholz and Curdin Morell had a second run of 1:01.63 for an overall time of 2:02.99.
Germany’s No. 1 team of Dirk Wiese, Thorsten Wolm, Oliver Rogge and Olaf Hampel finished second in 2:03.47. The USA I team of Charles Leonowicz, Todd Snavely, Brian Leturgez and Christopher Green finished ninth in 2:04.35.
