Accidental Find Nets Drugs, Money, Suspects

Sheriff’s deputies went to a South El Monte house looking for the owner of a bridal shop damaged by an errant driver and found a stash of drugs, money, jewelry and guns, authorities said Monday.
Two suspects were arrested after Sunday night’s seizure. One, 27-year-old Jorge Ortiz, was at the South El Monte home where the drugs were found, police said. The other, Regina Hidalgo, 28, owner of the bridal shop and South El Monte house, was arrested a short time later at another home in Norwalk, police said.
Both were booked on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale and held on $500,000 bail. The relationship between them was not immediately clear.
