Debating U.S. Involvement in Gulf Conflict

What ever happened to World War II “zip the lip”? Is the following merely coincidence?
On Jan. 21, at the Pentagon press conference, some reporter had to ask if the Scud situation was clearing up. The answer was that, due to the weather and heavy cloud covering, positive determination was not available at the time. The very next day, old Saddam fired up some of the oil well areas in Kuwait. Is it too presumptuous to assume that Hussein got an idea from our explanation? Maybe coincidence, but it seems to me that too many specifics are being demanded by the press. Pentagon spokesman Pete Williams is doing a splendid fielding job.
