VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Bellman Scores 25 as Rio Mesa Gets Past Oxnard, 67-56

Greg Bellman scored a game-high 25 points to lead Rio Mesa High to a 67-56 win over Oxnard in a Channel League boys’ basketball game at Rio Mesa on Monday night.
Manuk Kayaoglu and Swanson Nunnery each added 12 points for Rio Mesa (9-11, 6-4).
Oxnard fell to 2-17, 0-10.
In other boys’ games:
San Marcos 76, Ventura 48--Rob Ramaker scored 19 points and Phil Staten added 18 as first-place San Marcos (10-0 in league play) leveled Ventura in a Channel League game at Ventura.
Mike Ryken scored a team-high 14 points for Ventura (11-9, 6-4).
Moorpark 56, Oak Park 38--Eric Pryor scored 17 points in a losing effort for Oak Park (0-14, 0-8) in a Tri-Valley League game at home.
Robbie Salone and Rick Dement each scored 14 points to lead Moorpark.
Bishop Diego 54, St. Bonaventure 49--Rick Demarest (16 points) made seven of eight free throws in the fourth quarter to lead Bishop Diego (17-4, 8-0) in a Tri-Valley League game at St. Bonaventure.
Valley Alternative 93, Marlton 48--Tyrone Clark scored 30 points and teammate Ariel Pascarelli had 22 for Valley Alternative (2-9 in league play) in a Magnet League game at Crenshaw YMCA.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Bell-Jeff 67, El Segundo 41--Ingrid Ochoa scored a game-high 21 points and teammate Jany Despotov added 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead Bell-Jeff in a San Fernando Valley League game at home.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Louisville 4, St, Bernard 0--Varsi Amerian scored twice and Julie Ley and Cindy Daws each scored one goal for Louisville (6-1-1, 13-2) in a Mission League match.
