COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Northridge Women Reach Final in Basketball, 66-52

Point guard Bridgette Ealy scored a game-high 23 points and added 13 rebounds, seven assists and four steals Friday night to lead the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team to a 66-52 victory over Idaho State in a semifinal game of the Portland State tournament.
The Matadors (10-13) will play Portland State at 8 tonight in the championship game.
Northridge, which never trailed, outrebounded Idaho State, 44-20, made 28 of 56 field-goal attempts and converted 10 of 13 (76.9%) free throws. Idaho State is 10-10.
BASEBALL
Oxnard 6, Canada 1--Right-hander John Brookman allowed one run in seven innings to lead Oxnard to a first-round victory in the Canada College tournament in Redwood City.
Brookman (1-0) struck out seven, allowed five hits and walked only two.
Jeff Trower and Desmond Cornish pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
Oxnard’s Steve Susko was four for five with a run batted in, and Pat Avila had two RBIs.
Oxnard (2-2) will play Skyline today.
Cerritos 12, Mission 0--Eddie Chavez’s single in the second inning was the only hit for visiting Mission in a nonconference game.
Scott Moten (1-1) picked up the victory for Cerritos (1-2-2).
Brian Jeffrey (0-1) took the loss for Mission (1-3).
SOFTBALL
Orange Coast 7, Ventura 0--Shannon Ebert went two for three, drove in two runs and scored another for Orange Coast in the Rancho Santiago tournament.
Kristin Heizer pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out three.
