Coffman Leads CSUN to Win in Volleyball

Neil Coffman recorded a match-high 31 kills to lead the Cal State Northridge men’s volleyball team to a 16-14, 10-15, 15-11, 15-5 victory over UC Irvine in a Western Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn. match at Northridge.
Raphael Tulino added 21 kills, Bill Ortgiesen had 11 and Mark Root had 10 to lead the Matadors (7-2, 3-1 in conference play), who posted a hitting percentage of .427.
Tulino connected on 21 of 35 attempts for a team-high kill percentage of .543.
After losing the second game, Northridge responded with a .537 kill percentage in the third, drilling home 24 of 41 attempts.
Matt Unger, a setter, had 64 assists for the Matadors. Leland Quinn had a team-high 20 kills to lead UC Irvine (0-5, 0-5).
