Guilty Plea in Pentagon Fraud Case: Former defense contractor Richard I. Silver pleaded guilty to three felony counts in connection with a scheme to defraud the Pentagon of more than $1 million on contracts for aircraft parts, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. Silver, 37, entered the plea in federal court in Los Angeles. He was charged with falsely billing the government for parts that his firm, Aerotech Industries of Canoga Park, had either not supplied or that did not conform to the contracts. Silver was arrested in Scottsdale, Ariz., late last year. Sentencing is scheduled for June 24.
