LOS ANGELES — A Norwalk elementary school teacher was arrested Friday on suspicion of molesting young boys, sheriff’s authorities said.
John Werner, 55, was arrested at a home in Seal Beach at 5:15 p.m. by deputies from the department’s juvenile investigations bureau, Sgt. Larry Lincoln said.
A search warrant was simultaneously served at Werner’s home in Norwalk for evidence relating to the allegations, Lincoln said.
Werner, a teacher at Nottingham Elementary School, was booked at the Norwalk sheriff’s station and held in lieu of $210,000 bail.
Lincoln said he did not know how many alleged victims were involved but said they were 12- to 13-year-old boys.
The charges against Werner range from fondling the youths to oral copulation and sodomy, Lincoln said. The alleged acts took place at Werner’s home or the school.
