Empire Building: Actress Fay Wray, who screamed her way through the 1933 movie “King Kong,” helped celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Empire State Building Wednesday in New York City. “I feel safer here today, much safer, than I did with King Kong,” said Wray, who (with the help of special effects) was carried up the building’s granite exterior by the big ape who swatted at Army biplanes as they pumped him full of bullets. She was presented a slice of green lobby marble with a plaque for her participation over the years in building events.
