In response to “Winging It With Free Air Travel” (Column One, April 26):
According to your article, there appears to be considerable travel abuse by government officials courtesy of the taxpayer.
As an employee for a major airline, I know for a fact that, when these government officials are utilizing major airlines, they are traveling first-class. As most people know, this includes free cocktails and fancy foods as well as exorbitant fares.
Your article has just begun to dwell on the problem of travel abuse by government officials. The article should be labeled “Free Travel Courtesy of Taxpayers.”
