GARDEN GROVE : Youth of the Year Forms Available

Applications will be available starting Monday for the city’s second annual Youth of the Year Award, a $300 scholarship given to a high school student who has served as a positive role model.
To be eligible for the award, which is sponsored by the city’s Youth Commission, Women’s Civic Club and California Balloon Decorations, a student must be a Garden Grove resident, a graduating high school senior and have a record of community service in a school, church or service organization.
Applications will be available in counseling offices at each local high school on Monday and must be returned by May 17. Finalists will be interviewed on May 23 at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center.
