Bush’s choice gives his adopted state of Texas two presidential libraries, the other being the Lyndon B. Johnson Library in Austin.

Fitzwater said the library will be built over a wooded, 90-acre site. The school will integrate the library into the university system and has promised to cover costs by handling fund raising.

Fitzwater said that Bush hoped the library would be completed when his presidency is over, assuming he will serve two terms.
