Kings’ Fans Must Wait at Least Another Year for Their Coronation

When Craig MacTavish ended the Kings’ Cup chase, I couldn’t help but reflect on Coach (Tom) Webster’s decision to start Kelly Hrudey in Game 4. During the regular season, Webster rotated his two goalies to perfection. In the Kings’ history, no other so-called backup performed as well as Daniel Berthiaume. Hrudey should have been given a rest after grueling double-overtime losses. By starting Berthiaume in Game 4, it might have given the Kings the spark to get their second win and first Stanley Cup. Alas, what might have been.
