BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Double Dynamite Duo More Like Double Duds

They knew there would be Daves like this, but taking early batting practice together Friday wasn’t what what Dave Winfield and Dave Parker had in mind.
Lately, the Double Dynamite duo has been a double fizzle.
Winfield, batting .233, entered the game against Baltimore in a five-for-38 slump and one for nine on this home stand. He had not hit a home run since April 13, when he hit three against Minnesota.
Parker, batting .213, had been improving recently but went 0 for 3 in a loss to Cleveland Wednesday and was batting .188 (nine for 48) at home. He had not homered since opening day against Seattle.
Bert Blyleven, in the early stages of rehabilitation after rotator-cuff surgery, was in the clubhouse, looking at a book filled with information on fishing.
“I’m a left-handed caster,” said Blyleven, whose right shoulder is still too weak to be useful. “I just have a little trouble reeling.”
