Rusty Wallace fought off a succession of challenges to win the second round of the 1991 International Race of Champions series. He earned his second IROC victory by holding off fellow NASCAR stock car star Bill Elliott on the last lap around the 2.66-mile, high-banked Talladega Superspeedway. Wallace averaged 187.958 m.p.h.
NASCAR’S Mark Martin was third, followed by Indy-car driver Scott Pruett, road racer Geoff Brabham, Indy-car driver Al Unser Sr. and road racer Tommy Kendall.
