A personnel assistant, a secretary and a maintenance worker have been named non-teaching employees of the year by the Saddleback Community College District.
Mary Cribb of Lake Forest, Susan Sweet of Costa Mesa and Rod Fitz of Carlsbad were awarded Outstanding Service Awards for the quality of their work and their courtesy. The winners were selected by a committee based on nominations by other staff members.
Cribb, who is a former junior high school and preschool teacher, is an assistant in the district’s office of employee relations and personnel.
Fitz, a 15-year-employee of the district, maintains the office of college operations and support services at Saddleback College.
Sweet is an administrative secretary for the School of Guidance and Counseling at Irvine Valley College. She is also a student at Cal State Long Beach, and plans to earn a master’s degree in social work or civil law.
