Going, Going, Down: Another sign that record art prices are a thing of the past came Tuesday at Sotheby’s in New York where bidding was so low that 20 of the 49 pieces for auction failed to sell. Sotheby’s had estimated that the Impressionist and modern works would bring $31 million to $42 million. The total take was only $18.2 million.
