Culver City : Recycling Advisers Sought
Culver City is seeking applicants for its Recycling and Conservation Task Force, which advises the City Council on recycling waste materials.
Two categories of task force members are chosen by the City Council: those representing residents, businesses and community groups, who must live in Culver City; and those representing waste management or recycling industries and regulatory bodies, who need not live in the city.
Applications must be received by May 24. For more information, contact Teri Chalmers, waste reduction coordinator, at (213) 280-5950.
The city is also sponsoring a drop-off bin for mixed-paper recycling May 18 through 23. Cardboard, magazines, telephone books, computer paper and white paper can be left at the bin, in the northeast corner of the parking lot of Culver Palms United Methodist Church, 4464 Sepulveda Blvd. Waxed paper and fax paper cannot be taken there.
