Bush Picks Envoy to Egypt

WASHINGTON — President Bush announced Thursday that he will nominate Robert H. Pelletreau Jr., a career diplomat, to be ambassador to Egypt.
Pelletreau has been ambassador to Tunisia since 1987. He joined the Foreign Service in 1962 and has held a variety of positions at the State Department and Pentagon.
