Strawberry Treats in Oxnard

While devouring a slice of strawberry pizza or maybe a juicy strawberry kabob, music fans of all genres--from rock, Latin jazz, country, blues and reggae--can enjoy a weekend of live entertainment at this weekend’s Strawberry Festival in Oxnard.
Following is a schedule of the event’s musical acts, which will be performed on two stages:
STRAWBERRY STAGE:
Saturday
10 to 11 a.m.--Convertibles (50s-style rock)
1 to 4 p.m.--James Harman Band (blues)
4 to 6:30 p.m.--Jill Michaels Band (country and Western)
Sunday
10 a.m. to noon--Ex-Husbands (blues)
noon to 3 p.m.--Lion I’s (reggae)
3 to 6:30 p.m.--Sky King (country and Western)
FESTIVAL STAGE:
Saturday
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.--Rosalee & Wolf (rock)
1 to 3 p.m.--The Guess Who (rock)
4 to 6:30 p.m.--David Clayton Thomas & Blood, Sweat & Tears (rock)
Sunday
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.--Rubaya (Latin jazz)
1 to 4 p.m.--Tower of Power (rock)
4 to 6:30 p.m.--Wayne Toups & Zydecajun
At the Strawberryland Children’s Corner, which will feature various children’s entertainment throughout the festival, musician Joanie Bartels will perform from noon to 1 p.m., and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
The festival will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. both days at the Strawberry Meadows site at College Park in Oxnard. Music entertainment will be free with the price of admission ($4; $2 senior citizens, children 2 to 12). Call 984-4715.
