Schwartz Wins Speedway Scratch Main Event

COSTA MESA — Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 3,754 in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Mike Faria of Colton was second, Phil Collins of Costa Mesa was third and Alan Christian of Murrieta was fourth.

Robert Pfetzing of Santa Ana won the eight-lap handicap main event. Christian was second, Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was third, Steve Lucero of Riverside was fourth, Sam Ermolenko of Colton was fifth, Schwartz was sixth, Faria was seventh and Charlie Venegas of Walnut Creek was eighth.
