Judge’s Ruling on Chief Gates

I am getting a sinister message from the dominant segment of our democratic system in Los Angeles. Judge Sohigian’s ruling to uphold the City Council’s decision over the Police Commission; the dismissal of the criminal charges against the former Long Beach police officers involved in that violent confrontation with Don Jackson, and the lethargic manner in which the court is treating the Rodney King incident cause this African-American to be totally apprehensive. Me thinks it will be a long hot summer in South-Central Los Angeles.
