Aviator Knapp Chosen to Head Hollywood Chamber

Aviator Brooke Knapp has been named the new president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, officials said Thursday.
Knapp, the first woman ever named to the post, most recently served as vice president of Golden State Newsprint, a recycled newsprint manufacturer. She was the founder and former president of Jet Airways, a business aviation service and management company she ran for eight years.
Knapp has set more than 100 world aviation speed records, including the record for the fastest speed around the world for civilian aircraft. She is chairwoman of the state Commission on Aviation and Airports and sits on the board of the National Aeronautic Assn.
