Hilltop 1, Rancho Buena Vista 0--Junior catcher Tonya Contreras bounced a single over the third baseman’s head, scoring Pam Dennis with two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the seventh to give Hilltop (25-4) the victory. Jackie Hill (23-4) outplayed Audrey West (20-5). Each allowed five hits. Fifth-seeded Rancho Buena Vista finished 20-5.
2-A
Grossmont 1, San Pasqual 0--Jolie Oliver pitched a two-hitter and struck out 12 to lead No. 4 Grossmont (18-5). She also scored the only run in the second after leading off with a triple. With two outs, Kelly Rookey drove Oliver home with a single up the middle. San Pasqual, which upset top-seeded USDHS on Tuesday, finished 17-10.
Escondido 1, Madison 0--Ruth Henry (11-1) came within two outs of a no-hitter before she gave up a single to Lee Ann Taylor. Henry struck out 10, walked none and allowed only base runners, as second-seeded Escondido (21-2) escaped the semifinals for the first time in three years. The Cougars will meet Grossmont at 12:30 p.m. in Saturday’s final at Mesa del Sol.

Bishop’s 3, Holtville 0--Junior Anna Djeldenas (18-2) struck out 12 and walked one as the Knights advanced to the final for the fifth consecutive year. They are four-time defending champions. Jennifer Hay was two for three and scored twice. Bishop’s is 18-3. Holtville finished 22-4.
Calvin Christian 5, Imperial 4--Tracy Koolhaas delivered a two-run single to highlight a three-run third inning as Calvin Christian (20-3) advanced to Saturday’s final at 10 a.m. Calvin Christian (20-3) defeated Bishop’s, 7-4, in nine innings during the regular season.
