The Greek Olympic Committee, still upset over not getting the 1996 Olympic Games, said it will participate only in the torch-lighting ceremony that will send the flame to Atlanta that year.
“We will take part in the flame-lighting and send a team to Atlanta, but I repeat that we will not participate in any event marking the Games’ 100th anniversary,” said Giorgos Liveris, press spokesman for the GOC.
