Meridian Insurance Group Inc. named Norman J. Hicks, president and chief executive succeeding Harold C. McCarthy. McCarthy was named chairman, succeeding Richard O. Ristine, who will remain a director until 1992. The company, in a release, didn’t offer any explanation for the changes. Hicks was formerly formerly executive vice president of the Indianapolis-headquartered firm.
