Juergen Weber, chief executive, technical services for Lufthansa German Airlines, will become chairman and chief executive of the airline on Sept. 1. Weber succeeds Heinz Ruhnau, who has held the post of chairman since July 1, 1982.
Weber, 49, joined the Frankfurt, Germany-based carrier in 1967 in the engineering division. He became general manager technical services in 1987 and was appointed to the airline’s executive board in January, 1990.
