Woman’s Daughters Give Her 2 New Grandchildren on the Same Night

OHIOVILLE, Pa. — Becoming a grandmother was nothing new for Marilyn Dorn. Getting two new grandchildren on the same night was.
Dorn, grandmother of 10, had a tough decision to make last week when two of her daughters went into labor within hours of each other.
“I was going crazy,” she said. “I was trying to figure out what hospital to be at and where to go. By the time I got home, I was ready to collapse.”
Early Tuesday, Dorn learned that her daughter Deborah Christian had gone into labor. Dorn woke another daughter, Susan, and asked her to pick up a third daughter, a pregnant April Allen, and meet the rest of the family at Ellwood City Hospital.
At 12:38 a.m., Deborah gave birth to a 7-pound 10-ounce daughter, Amber Marie. Four hours later, April’s child, 9-pound 11-ounce Jeffrey David, was born.
