Brad Gates is the controversial sheriff of my home county (Orange). Daryl Gates is the belligerent top cop of Los Angeles. And now, Robert Gates is the nominee for director of the CIA. I hope the Gates close no further on our civil liberties. Many of us are feeling mighty fenced in as it is.
