Chatsworth’s American Legion team lost Tuesday for just the second time this season, but it didn’t go down without a fight.
Chatsworth was trailing, 3-2, against Las Virgenes in a District 20 game at Calabasas High that was deemed a forfeit after six innings because of multiple player ejections.
Chatsworth’s Anthony Moreno, Adam Pearlman and Nestor Martinez reportedly were ejected in the bottom of the sixth for arguing a call.
Right-hander Paul Johnson allowed eight hits, struck out four and walked three for Las Virgenes, which never trailed.
Tom Hoke was three for three, and Tom Hoover and Alex Armacost each had run-scoring doubles off the previously unbeaten Moreno, a right-hander whose record fell to 5-1.
Armacost’s double in the fifth gave Las Virgenes a 3-1 lead. David Jacobs also drove in a run for Las Virgenes.
Chatsworth, which possesses the best record in the district, fell to 18-2. Las Virgenes is 6-12.
