Benefits of Land Exchange

Opponents of the proposed Bob Hope-National Park Service land swap are bemoaning a loss of open space that would be “lost” if 750 houses and a golf course are built. But they are clinging to private open space, to which they have no right. This land swap would place much acreage into public hands and that land would truly be public open space. Private open space, which is what Jordan Ranch is now, is of little use to me as a citizen. But the hundreds upon hundreds of acres of public open space that would be acquired if this land exchange is executed would have a most positive impact on the public.
