Police raided a public housing project in Los Angeles Wednesday and arrested a suspect wanted in a $150 robbery and attack that left a 13-year-old girl dead, her sister wounded and an aunt paralyzed from the neck down.
Detectives were still seeking a second suspect, identified as Brian Keith Scott, 23, Lt. Rich Molony said. Arrested in the early-morning raid at the Imperial Courts Housing Project was Traveon Martin, 21. Both Martin and Scott were identified as gang members.
Molony said both men took part in a residential robbery and rampage early Saturday in which LaTasha Johnson was killed. Both Johnson’s 14-year-old sister and her 23-year-old aunt were wounded. The names of the survivors were not released. The incident took place about 5:50 a.m. Saturday when two men entered the victims’ apartment in the 2000 block of East Imperial Highway near Imperial Courts, detectives said.
