Parks Pulls Down Seven Rebounds in U.S. Victory

The United States remained undefeated in the World Junior Men’s Basketball Championships Thursday in Edmonton, Canada, with a 94-78 victory over Brazil.
Cherokee Parks, the former Marina High School standout, scored two points and grabbed seven rebounds in 18 minutes.
The United States held a 54-38 advantage at halftime. Brazil closed to within nine points with four minutes remaining, but could get no closer. The U.S. team (6-0) hit 32 of 54 shots from the field (59%), and outrebounded Brazil, 46-31. The United States faces defending champion Yugoslavia (4-2) in a semifinal game Saturday.
