Cerritos : Council OKs $2 Million for High School Gym Addition
- Share via
The City Council and ABC Unified School District Board of Education have agreed to build a $2-million addition onto the gymnasium at Cerritos High School that would be paid for with city money.
Last year, city staff members began studying ways to meet the rising public demand for recreational facilities. The study said that building an additional basketball court at the high school would be the quickest way to meet the need.
The $2-million expenditure was approved by the council, which also said it wanted to help the school district pay for a second gym at another high school sometime in the future.
Cerritos residents would be allowed to use the proposed gym.
