San Clemente’s Fletcher Ousted in Fourth Round

Christian Fletcher of San Clemente was eliminated from the $50,000 Body Glove Surf Bout IV Wednesday at Lower Trestles.
Fletcher, who won the competition in 1989, fell out in the fourth round when he was ruled to have interfered with another surfer on a wave.
Richie Collins of Newport Beach, Jeff Booth of Laguna Beach and Scott Desiderio of El Toro are among those who will compete today.
The contest concludes with the finals at 11 a.m. Sunday. Admission is free each day.
