Two men were killed in a drive-by shooting in Compton, police said Monday. Barry Earl Jordan, 26, and Carnelious Romel Stoval, 35, were shot to death by assailants in a stolen Jeep Cherokee just after 10 p.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Barry Lobel.
They were taken to Martin Luther King Jr.-Drew Medical Center where they died of their wounds, he said. The men were standing on a sidewalk in front of a residence when they were shot with some kind of rifle. Lobel said the motive for the shooting was unknown. He did not know if the attack was gang-related.
The car, stolen in nearby Lynwood earlier Sunday, was recovered shortly after the shooting, Lobel said.
