Several stolen items of memorabilia from Duke’s 1991 Final Four championship were recovered on the campus of archrival North Carolina.
The trophies and memorabilia were found aligned around the Old Well, Duke’s public safety office said. They were taken from a trophy case at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Among the items taken from the trophy case was a game ball from the 1991 NCAA championship, one of the nets from the Hoosier Dome baskets and Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s 1991 coach of the year trophy from the National Assn. of Basketball Coaches.
Also taken were an Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season championship trophy, Danny Ferry’s ACC athlete of the year award from 1989 and other items marking Duke basketball history, authorities said. No arrests have been made.
